|
|
Hey all,
So I set my father up with a theater a few months ago and he's been happily using it. Today he calls me and says the projector is "fuzzy" near the bottom of the screen (ceiling mounted). After questioning and determining it's not convergence, I ask him to take a few pictures to see what he's talking about. It appears it's happening more or less over the whole screen, and it's nothing that I've seen before - apparently the PJ is still going, still displaying video (he watched Italian Job tonight), but something's obviously wrong. He says that he can see the lines oscillating, like they're wobbling up and down, forming the double line we see in the picture.
Any ideas??
TIA,
Ben

Thanks for the suggestion Athan, I'll have him double-check all connections tonight.

You nailed it. I told him to disconnect the cables and check the internal pattern again, it's rock solid. I had him plug it into his computer instead of the transcoder, that is also solid. It seems like either the cable box, component cable, or transcoder is bad - we'll keep testing, but it's definitely not the projector. Thanks!!

seriously, even a used V1.2 card for the Marquee at $175. is worth every penny.

This good son already gave his dad an installed and set up 8500, Hi-power screen, Petr's transcoder, surround sound receiver, speakers, quality RGBHV, component and optical cables I've just about hit my budget for this particular HT. Monoprice sells the Fury 1 for 57 bucks, the price can't be beat, it'll be an early Christmas present.
