The power turn on momentarily and some clicking sound then shuts down again! Is it already doomed! And am also interested with the HD fury 2. Will it work with my current system provided i transfer my bluray player? Thanks so much in advance!

If Ile can't repair it, then I can. It sounds like the deflection board or SMPS is bad. It also sounds like your repair tech is guessing, set shutdown is NEVER caused by the HV quadrupler.

Thanks Curt! I guessed so too! I am so pissed off with what they are doing to my unit! Imagine removing the whole part with the quadrupler and then removing the splitter which is soldered properly. And still guessing up to the boards! If the SMPS board is the cause how can we detect which part is defective? Do i have to change the entire board? Actually this happened when the unit was playing a movie and suddenly it went white and then a black line appears then off. When we try to turn it on again all lights on the led lights up but after a while it slow dims then on again then totally off. Thanks again for your help!

Often when a unit strikes up then down about three times before shutting down it is the convergence board.

It is possible to run these with out the yellow wires of the converegnce board connected as a test.

I have also seen a lot of issues with the SMPS and in particular the circuit that automatically switches 240 to 110 sorry third beer of the evening and I forget the exact term.

On the SMPS is a tiny white transformer that often burns out worth a look for over heating on the reverse side of the board under the protective sheet.
