I have a sony g70. It did have an error code 36. The pj would start up but then would immediately shut off. I proceeded to do a hard reset. I did that and now have an error code 60 and it will not start at all. Any suggestions

I have not been able to find any reference to a code 60. So we have to look at the original code first. The code 36 is V stop which the manual states could be polarity. What have you changed or done to the projector, or was it running fine then just stopped working. A little history but not to long.

Gpj had an error 36 on his G70 over 18 months ago.
This happened when he was is the menus switching between A and B inputs. He is a noob.
I can only think that the video mode he switched to was out of rang. Thus giving him the error 36.
He did not stop there and ask for help, but continued to cycle power.
He then gave up and 18 months later contacted me.
He told me that the pj would run for a short time and then would go into error 36
Tried to get him to power on and switch to video mode on the in built remote (all over the phone ).
Was told that it would not stay on long enough to do that.
Asked him to pull the B input card in the hope that it would default to the A input. But no luck there.
So I go out to see him and try my self. As soon as it is turned on error 36.
So did a user reformat on the YA card to put it back to factory but ended in error7 then 60.
Told him I can take it with me and work on it in my spur time. He was reluctant to let me take it so I will return next week with a full set of spur cards including a YA and YB card.
All this is at no charge to him and when I do fix it then it will be for the cost of a used card on the bay or from Curt.
If some one can give me some insite to this then it will help. If not then I will take it one card at a time.

My guess is the original 36 code was from an improper setting in the menu for projector position and the factory reset resolved it, or it may still be there if its a vert problem and the code 60 is now the primary code and when thats resolved the 36 will come back.
Isn't this stuff fun.....
You may have to do the reset again as the first reset may have malfunctioned and cause the code 60. I hate when they dont list a code that they obviously put in the firmware.
If no good on another reset then surely board swapping will be required since you have them available. If you didnt then the real fun would begin......
If you swap one of the Y boards and it then goes to 36 code, try the vert board. This one is going to be fun.....LOL
