It's some kind of collaborative all-in-one thing that Xerox did a while ago, but I can't find out a lot about it. It was clearly intended from the start to run RGB output... any guesses as to what's in that box?

Stop questoining, start buying! If that was local, I'd go take a visit ASAP. I'll bet you can get it for $100. Looks like a Barco 808 base unit.

Aw, man... Smile The guy is a pretty good distance from here, and I'd have to get my uncle to go up with me with the box truck to get the damn thing. Some stuff I'm reading online says the things weigh 600lbs... but if it's actually got an 808 in there... Confused

I sent the guy an email asking for some more info. He might think he can get a thousand bucks for it because there's a computer inside - the ad kinda suggests he's that kinda dude. I guess we'll see.

It'd be pretty cool to be able to put a modern PC in there and still retain the use of the whiteboard features... Razz

You sound like a woman. Want some cheese with that whine? Smile

Seriously, let me know if you get it. Heck, I KNOW you'll post a buncha pix. But I don't think it's worth $1000. Offer $500 tops. HE won't get any more than that, you know that and so do I.

I'm gonna offer him $0 for it. I haven't got money to spend on a lark like that - unfortunately. He's clueless, though - I might be able to trade him an LCD projector for it. But it's a massive job to get the thing.

The ad says 'ont'... if that means he's actually in canada, then it ain't gonna happen. An hour and a half I might be able to swing - three hours? Nuh-uh. But people use some odd abbreviations, so he might be somewhere half-way reasonable...

He's going to have a hard time finding someone to take that thing at any price - how many people could even transport it? It's taller than a doorway! Good god! I presume it comes apart, but still, just moving an 808 is tough enough, let alone an 808 stuck in a china cabinet. Smile

It probably is - you're up in the buffalo/syracuse/rochester area, right?

I'm sure you'd already be all over it if Curt had said there was a Marquee in there, right? Wink

I'll see if the guy gets back to me. I've still got to try to find time to go see that other PJ I found that's only a half hour from here, too! Too much work, too much wife working... It's been surprising how hard it is to find a couple of hours some evening. Sad

I sent the guy an email asking about location, if the "Ont" means ontario I might be able to check it out.

It means 'ontario new york'; I got a reply back. Good find on the documents, there, Nash - though I have to wonder how they made the thing weigh that much with an LCD projector in there. It kinda sounds from that as if it's one of the single-panel jobs, but "single" in that context could just mean, "not three tubes".

If the guy was half an hour away I'd go see the thing, but it's not worth driving two hours to see a 640x480 LCD projector in a big-ass box, no matter how cool the whiteboard feature is!

Clarence had an Ampro light valve projector that weighed 200lbs, but that's probably different technology...

I've seen one of these before, it's some type of digital inside, I recall LCD but its been a while so I can't say for sure on that.

I'm likely the closest, but I really, really don't need this thing even for free... Mr. Green

Maybe I'll go, just to take a look. Wink Rolling Eyes
