My question is about these boards that are on the Runco which isnt there on the stock NEC. Anybody know what these are for- any body have a manual for the Runco models which talks about these? (the NEC ones are on Curt's site, I know).

First about the boards- there are 2 of them. One is above (Photo 1) and between the blue and green lenses (projector floor mounted) and it says- "Runco IDP interface control Rev C" and it has 10 pots for adjustment ( r5, r8, r10, r12, r15 in one row, r4, r7, r9, r1 and r14 in the other row with 10 LEDs next to them (marked D1-D8). In normal operation only 1 lights up- D1 first when projector is switched on and then D4.

There is another board below- again between blue and green, and it says "for use with idp 990" Photo 2 and 3 (3 is a close-up of section of 2).

Now about the projector- its a runco 980 and the previous owner said that it was upgraded to something. So I am guessing its the 980 Ultra (NEC 9PG Extra)- it does have a point board.

Thank you.

I POSTED this is on the avs site to BTW.

TV/Projector: All of them!

This has to do with different aspect ratio settings, something to do with different memories accessed via the remote. I've never used them, but of all the Runco 'innovations', this one was indeed useful back in the day.
