Some of you may remember last time I was in Pa., a friend of mine does yard sales all the time and sells on Ebay and Amazon. At that time he found a free Sharpvision CRT RPTV that just needed a minor repair.
So this time I'm here he's telling me of stuff hes acquired and gets to where he says he bought some test meters. I stopped him and said what kind. He says I dont know...some fluke thing. So without to much excitement I ask what he had and how much he paid. Well he bought 3 meters, a model 29, a T5-1000 and a model 83. All 3 for 50 bucks.
So again without excitement I say that I'd be interested in 1 and he said sure, which one. Well you know I said the 83 and he handed it to me and said here. I said how much..... he said nothing. So it was an earily christmas for me....

Nice! I just bought three Fluke 77s off eBay to replace the bad 77s I had here. That was before I found that Fluke had the schematics of the meters on their site, so I repaired mine, and am now set for next 20-30 years for meters. I have 5 benches in my shop, and now each one has a meter. Why exactly, I'm not sure.
Super score though, I've never dabbled with the higher end Flukes.
