|
|
Hi guys
I've bought a 2x1 Octava Splitter to drive a Sony TV and a Sony VPR from an Onkyo amplifier. I found that there some kind of incompatibility since Octava does not let sound get trough if Onkyo is connected. Everything is working if I connect a source straight on the splitter.
Onkyo and Octava Italia are useless. I tought that buying an Octava I could be safe, I was wrong.
Now what? Could you suggest please a good splitter for my needs? On a EU website I found a Cablesson splitter, is it a good product?

Thanks
Antonio

Yes sorry, I was struggling to find the right name... It's a brand new and updated 806 receiver. The seller confirmed me that the Octava has this behaviour just with Onkyo.
If you recommend Monoprice items, I would trust you rather than buy something I don't know.
Have you tried it with an Onkyo?
Ciao
A

I don't own this particular splitter or any splitters for that matter so I cant vouch for the product but I wouldnt hesitate to buy it since the 4x1 switch I have from monoprice has been flawless.
The price seems right. You can get a few of the cheaper splitters but this one is HDMI 1.3a certified so that might help with come compatibility issues.

Octava splitters are supposed to be some of the best on the market. And actually my Octava splitter works properly. But there is this small incompatibility with Onkyo.
Is there someone here owing an onkyo that could advice for a splitter, just to avoid to pay more money on non-working devices?
Thanks Greg anyway, I appreciate your suggestions.

Yeah...I just read the reviews. There are 5 references to Onkyo and 4 of them are positive and the 5th one specifically says that he had an issue with the Onkyo not passing the sound.
Might be a bit risky.

Seems an Onkyo problem.......
I'll write to Onkyo USA. Onkyo Italy was rude and useless.
Thanks for your time

Cool...
I wrote to Onkyo Italy, they was helpless. Actually they didn't even try to help me.
I wrote to Onkyo UK and they didn't reply.
I wrote to Onkyo EU, they replied "Unfortunately we have no experience regarding this matter."
Guess: what brand of processor/receiver I will NOT buy next time?
Bye
