Hey, as you can red in my last threads i've got finished my setup (at least for the next month).
I wondered about picture mushes. In an 2 hour film, there are at least 5 sparks in the inner of the M 8500 which are visible in the picture and audible. These are the "little" sparks which are normal for CRT's (it doesn't sound like my tesla coil!!!).
Do you have some tips in mind were to find those little Voltage bastards?
I was thinking about using aliminiumfoil to earth the HV cables and splitter.

Use Asphalytic Loom (or Asphalt Cloth as its also called), 3/8th width for the HV cables (cheap off EBay.com here http://tinyurl.com/qoa9yh
). Slice the loom tube length-wise and slide it over the HV cable. Once the looms are done just wrap them in insulation tape (electrician's tape) to keep them in place. I've done mine and there is definately less sizzle, crackle and pop when starting up and no cracks or snaps when running!
See picture from HK-Steve here https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=17484.html (about half-way down the page) See the blue black and red HV cables, thats how it ends up looking.
I'm pretty sure Steve produced a detailed thread on this but can't find it.
Some sort of rubber tubing would work as well if you can't afford the Asphalt stuff.
Don't put anything over the spitter, and don't use the Aluminium Foil you suggested unless you want to electrocute yourself
