I just replaced my original green tube with a PT-18, and after remounting and connecting everything I am having some problems...
The set was starting up REALLY bright on the Blue and after a few seconds would go into EHT shutdown, I decreased the blue G2 until it would remain lit without shutting down but the green and red tubes will only briefly light up after changing between port 3 and 5 while the blue remains lit constantly and has a few bright trace lines across the illuminated area as well as retrace or akb lacing at the bottom of the tube face. I can not access the adjustment menus and the signal source on port 5 (HTPC) and connections are unchanged.
Any suggestions?

Might want to pull the blue video line and see if there is a difference. If not then try switching the output/neckboard cards with the green. Is the G2 led lit on the blue? I dont think it will run with the blue neckboard disconnected. Hopefully its not the tube.
I'm sure you've checked all the harnesses and connectors since you where in there working on it. Broken/bent wire or connector. Bent pin on the tube neck for blue? Or green, but doubt it.

The Blue was fine before I swapped the Green...
The 1208/2 has the jumper on the neckboard rather than the LED- that is why I need the menu access( to adjust the contrast/brightness down to allow G2/greyscale adjustment)
I did have the neck board off of the Blue while I was reinstalling the Green- as it took a LOT of wiggling around to get the overlapping tabs on the tube frames to mate up properly. I was worried that I had possibly dislodged some crud on the blue gun and caused an open short when it first started up, but after it lights up it forms a structured trapizoid pattern on the tube face ( although the blue is larger and off center, while the green and red are even and centered when they light up...)
I guess my next step is to try another source and/or swap the green and blue neck boards and see if the problem travels with the neck board.
