If you are reading this post, you're probably the owner of an ECP series projector. I would like to share this information with you. There has been alot of hype about hd 144 lenses, but no one was able to give me info on if they would improve the image over the hd 6"s, So I went ahead and got a set of color filtered hd144's and swapped them for the hd 6's. What an major difference. The image is exrtremely well focused compared to the hd 6's, and the colors are much brighter. I would say that it is a completely different machine. The colored glycol does not affect the image quality. So , in conclusion, if you are reading this and want a set ( direct fit into the machine , no adaptor plates required ) I know someone who has a set of color filtered hd 144's he would let go for 100 bucks, and if you want to do an upgrade, trust me on this one, it's very well worth the investment. I will also mention I'm running at 720 p with the vertical height adjustment (on the trimpot at the back of the projector) set to minimum. No visible scanlines at 9 feet away and very crisp, colorful image. Fantastic.

I assume you mean the color filters. You do not want color tinted glycol if the lenses are color filtered.
And yes I agree the lenses are a very nice upgrade !

Hi Tom,
I meant the colored glycol which is placed between the projection tube and the lense. Contrary to belief, my eye cannot see any negative effects. I have viewed this particular ecp for a little over 12 years now, the improvement over color and focus is phenominal. I see no need to replace the colored glycol with clear. As mentioned, my eyes are very satisified. The coloring in the sd187's glycol is so faint, I would say it's negligable. I am only sharing my personal experience with you here, colors are not oversaturated. I will try to post some screenshots.
Thanks.

When it said "a must read for ECP owners" I thought it was going to say "Trash your PJ now, you can get a much better picture finally and for under $600 US!!!"
