I posted this in my original thread in the video processor section but thought I would drop it here for maybe a little more exposure.
I got my VP50 back yesterday, updated with the latest firmware and not having the issues I had a few weeks ago. So everything seems almost back to normal when I notice something that may have nothing to do with the VP50 but it has me puzzled. I have been using the Moome XGHDMI card for a while now and it has two LED's that say "10 bit" and "12 bit". I also use a hushbox so I'm not used to seeing the lights on the card that often. After a recent tube change, setup and the VP50 going crazy I had to take the hushbox down for maintenance. Anyway, while the VP50 was away I went back to just running the HDMI cable directly to the Moome card, bypassing the VP50 since it was being repaired. While viewing my Blu Ray source this way I noticed that the "12 bit" light on the Moome card was illuminated. I didn't think much of it just assuming that it was always lit before and I just couldn't see it because of the hushbox. Well, last night I put the VP50 back in the chain and using the same sources as before I don't get the "12 bit" or the "10 bit" LED on the Moome card. Is there some reason this should be happening?

Drop,
I think it could be something to do with the color space difference between the VP50 and the going direct. Gary always talked about the VP50 being different.

I don't know. The VP50 confirms that I am sending 4:2:2 color space from the Blu Ray player and outputting 4:2:2 from the VP50 to the projector. Maybe it doesn't make a difference but now that I have noticed this it's going to drive me crazy. I sent an email to DVDO tech support to get their take on it. I see that the EDGE now supports Deep Color so I wonder if using that processor would make a difference. Of course it doesn't do some of the things that the VP50 does either.
