I can't seem to get the image centered in the raster. You can see the area on the right hand side. When I use the POSITION control the image rolls around behind itself, it won't go any further into that dark green area (same in the other 2 tubes). I tried the amplitude and linearity just to see if that had any effect, but it didn't. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hello

What model projector? Centering can probably be done with green convergence, but best if centering is done with the tube magnets with convergence nulled; this is the least load on the convergence circuits and is true for all three colors.

TV/Projector: Marquee 9501LC / NEC 9PG+

Throw up a cross hair "+" and measure the distance on all 4 sides to the edge of the tube to see if the "+" is centered, I doubt it is. As Tim says, if that's the case use the magnets. I did it on my NEC 9PG+ and it was easy to do. Curt set up my Marquee, so I don't know how tough it is to get to the magnets.

I keep forgetting the model. It's the 9pg+. I'll try it later tonight or maybe tomorrow and will let you know how it works. Thanks again.

You need to adjust the porch pixels in the source, there aren't enough porch pixels for retrace, or they are all on one side - the roll around is the give away.

Of coarse, you have a proper source, like a Video Processor or a PC, don't you?

This is not a raster centering issue, this is an image centering issue.

I don't have either Mark. As far as a VP, what's the least I need without spending too much?

Well what is your source now?

I think some Moome products or box1020 type stuff can move the image, but I don't know if that will be enough. You really need more porch pixels.

Don't know if you want to add an amp to your signal path, but the old Extron RGB amps (202Plus?) has both a horizontal and vertical centering knob. I used to use one with my Marquee to center the image on the raster. Worked like a champ. I later used an HTPC and was then able to adjust the image centering with software.

Have you checked and adjusted and saved the phase for each entry?

Blanking should be 100%, correct? I will check when I get home. The player is showing 1080i out.

From what I've read the last couple of days is that 1080i should be no problem. This problem mostly occurs when you try to feed it 1080p. Does that seem correct? Anyone with a 9pg xtra?

edit: I just re-read one of my last post. I have a Runco 980 ultra = 9pg xtra.

I hooked up my cable box > hdmi > hdfury2 > rgb and fed it 480i. Deleted the signal entry and made a new one and zeroed everything out. Tried all the adjustments and I still have this band on all the tubes. In fact, when I turn the projector on and before the player or cable box sync I can see this banding. Did I mess up something else when I took the tubes out to bleed?

Any other ideas what could be wrong?

Have not messed with any of the pots. The only thing I've touched is the green focus on the system board(?).
