I'm contacting you again because you might know what's going on with my marquee.
I did get it working (able to see the menu system) but my video processor broke down so i decided to upgrade to hdmi. I got the moome hd card and it is a good improvement when I've got my marquee to work. my source is an AppleTV for now, im hoping to get the oppo blu ray drive soonish.
There was/is a problem when i turn on the projector all the proper LEDs on the back would light properly but there would be no image coming out of the tubes. if i turned off the source, projector, several times in different sequences i could get it to work sometimes. but it was getting harder to turn on.
But now, I've found out that if i disconnect the power cord and put it back the projector will always work. I can turn the projector off at the main fuse board after i use it, but I'm not sure if it will course a problem if the fans aren't always on.
Can you advise? do you know what is wrong?
thanks
marc

Try cleaning/reseating the contacts on the H board (HDM). Check the red power supply lights on the actual LVPS to see if any come on when the set has no image. My money is on a problem with the HDM.

When there is no pic Marc does it say no V sync or out of range? The Moome cards sometimes dont sync up right with certain sources, so it could be the apple TV. But also do what Curt mentioned but I think you have had your set torn apart and put together so many times in the past few months trying to trouble shoot it all the contacts should be clean by now.

when there is no pic, there is no light at all, meaning i dont get any message or menu system.
ill try again to reseat the hdm and focus boards. i got myself a can of deoxid, so i'll give the cards a spray of that too. i did the CLM yesterday.
btw curt, your email is not working, at least the one you've previously used to me.

Hello
The most common problems are HDM and HVPS stoppages. An HDM failure will inhibit high voltage from coming up also, so not to scar the tube phosphor..

hi tim
well i realised when i try to turn it on it is like it is in standby mode and i can't get it to wake up.
I wake it up by turning it off then disconnecting the power cord for a few seconds. then it will turn on without fail.
its a bit annoying but at least it works that way
If it is a failed HDM, what can i do? im not a technician, maybe i should get a replacement from curt.

Now I'll say it's the LVPS or the CLM.

I'm having the same problem with a Marquee 8000 that I'm testing before passing off to a friend. If I have it plugged into the FIOS DVR box (which sends a video signal 24/7 - stupid), it will turn on and *I think* HV comes up, but the projector is "locked up" - it doesn't display anything and won't respond to the wired remote for any commands, not even power off, so I have to pull the plug. If I disconnect the VGA cable before powering up the projector, it works every time. The set has been absolutely rock solid while in operation.

My 9500LC just went belly up yesterday. I looked in on the forum for some tips, removed and reseated the HDM board as suggested above and tried again. Only an extremely faint glow on the screen with a very dim verticle line showing just left of center. No red lights on in the back, just the green power LED. No changes when source is turned on. Please advise.
