When your tinkering with the neckbords or connectors when ceiling mounted. Also how do you get to the neckboard cage screws while the sides are still on. I can get them out o.k. but putting them back is.... well the sides come off easier then cutting my hands and throwing screw drivers.

A 14 gauge wire looped through the screw holes. Don't tie it too tight, so it's sure to work loose as both hands in the set, and whacks you in the back of the head. Very Happy

I use a piece of wood, cut to size to fit in perfectly.

If I can find a pic I will post it up.

Curt, is that why I only have 3 fingers left, even when it drops, sounds like a guillotine

Why would you take the sides off? the screws are right on top?

I was using a bungee cord and that's exactly what happened. Knot on the head, thrown screw driver, wife asking are you alright?

Of course not WTF is wrong with you.

The outside screws of the red and blue are a little angle if you don't remove the side panels,

Athanasios
But, I think that you don't have this issue with the blend as the tubes are nearly all straight, with a smal toe in.

Unlike us mere mortals, we need more toe in.

I am having a hard time getting to the far left screw on the blue tube and far right on the red. I guess I should just get a stubby screwdriver. Question

That's just about exactly my solution too, except I used a much higher-tech approach: coat hanger. Hung from the unistrut.

So far I haven't gotten whacked by the guillotine, err, heatsink. The pain in my keister is the @#%#% focus and HDM modules. On a ceiling-mount Marquee, swing up the heatsink and whoops! The focus/HDM boards fall out...

What idiot designed that!? I end up wrapping a cinch strap around the projector, with foam or boxes under the focus/HTM modules, before I lift the heatsink. Surely there's a better solution??

I added a strap to each FCM and HDM sleeve, A red cable with a crimp lug on each end.

12 foot wide with a single Marquee, Hmmmmm, Me thinks it not bright enough.

Ahhhh, the blend would give you perfect light output.
What is the blend screen size???? too lazy to look at your thread Mr. Green

Nope not all Marquee's are like that, Steve is a massive modder!! He has double insulated all the HV leads, and basically almost every other wire, cable, ground strap in that thing along with about 100,000 extra uf's added or some insane number like that.

Athanasios is correct,
I have done lots to my Marquee, the cabling in that pic is just hanging around everywhere,

It has been cleaned up, with new cables installed into specific places to reduce induced noise into the cables.
Sheilding also has been installed on cables.
Lots of grounding straps to boards and other locations.
Plus relocated to better locations for where the cable pass throughout the Marquee chassis.

Plus, Hmmm, one day I might just add up how much capacitance I have added,
Might be a little scary actually Cool

Well, I just added up all the capacitors in my projector,
I could be missing a couple Rolling Eyes

40,002uF throughout the entire projector. Not as bad as I thought. Still a lot though.
Never had any starting issues with it all installed.
Just a better image Thumbs Up

Hey Steve, your red straps for the FCM and HDM are they actually wire cables (acting as an additional ground as well perhaps) or just plastic things?

Thanks,

Hey Paul, Great question.

YES, they are an additional ground for both FCM and HDM.
Well spotted, and well thought out.

Cheers
Steve
