Hello to all the people of this great forum Thumbs Up

I have a question about an HDMI>VGA converter for my CRT projector.

I'm using a HD Fury (ver. 1) to connect my video sources (PS3 + hddvd player, actually) via HDMI to my sony 1271 (waiting for the 1292 goes on).

I'd like to change the HD Fury with another converter like HD Fury 2 or Moome IFB-FULLHD.

Witch one are better, looking for overall video quality?
I've searched over the forum and the web but I didn't find information about this comparison.

Anyone have tried both in a sony CRT?

Thanks for your help.

Bye,
Edoardo

Hello Edoardo. Seems that newest Moome HDMI inputcard is best choice, read this-> https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=17242.html

Thats Marquee version, what most of talk is about on that thread. Mikes mods should work also to sony version(if i have understandet it right) So if i was you, iīll wait for moment and see how Moome&MP get that modded version out.

honestly, I would not spend the money on this for a 1271. The 1271 is not good enough to see any improvement in picture quality. Instead of speding over $100 US on this, spend a bit more and just get a new projecto that this will not be an issue for and will have a better picture than the 1271.

I want to use an HD Fury 2 or an IFB-fullhd on my 1292 (as soon as possible, when it work again), not in the 1271 (that is temporary). Wink

Why buy a device that can only be used in a Sony when you can buy something that can be used in another brand after the Sony dies and you can't get parts for it? I'm using a HDFury1 on my 1209s and it works great.

Because in the case of IFB-fullhd, it bypass the standard IFB-11 input card and go direct to the RGBHV internal "bus". Wink
If both the device deliver the same result in a sony vpr, I'll buy the external converter.

Yep. That IFB-11 card doesend made signal any better, so it is better use internal input card like Moomeīs card

For what it's worth, there are varying opinions to what's best based on users who have used both. Some prefer the internal Moome cards while others swear that the HDfury2 products a better/sharper picture.

In the end it's nice to have any choice at all!

I've used both on my Sony G90 and can categorically say the HDFury2 produces a better image on my projector. I'm feeding a 1080/60 signal to Input A via the supplied 5BNC cable. The image is sharper, has more punch, better whites and gamma control without the need for extra circuitry. I also found i needed to drop brightness/contrast down a bit which must be better for the tubes in the long run. Since you have a 1292 YMMV.
