Suppose I buy a Marquee 8500/9500 how do I connect it to a Blue Ray player? I've heard of line doublers but is this what I need and if so where do I buy one and how much should I expect to spend?

I have a 9501 and it's just HDMI-DVI cable out from Blu-Ray, Hooked up to HDFury, VGA-BNC cable from fury to projector.
It's pretty easy actually. Blu-ray on Marquee is really nice. You can get better lenses and such as you go along. I like the base HD-10's myself though.
Alternatively, you could buy the new input card and you go Blu-Ray> HDMI cable > projector. The input card is a lot more $$ than a Fury and cables though. Also, with HDMI, you are limited in cable length.
You can find both here... http://www.curtpalme.com/Products.shtm#Moome
Hope that helps.

OK I think the "fury" is the part I was missing. What's a fury??

This..
There is also the HDFury2, but I know nothing about it. The Fury1 with power adapter works great for me.

Basically, it gives you the ability to go from DVI input to a VGA output. Your BNC cable is VGA on one end, so won't hook directly up to anything but a computer.
If you have the Fury, you just need a HDMI to DVI cable to go from your HDMI out to plug into the DVI end of the Fuy and away you go.

You may also want to search the forum here on which is better, the HD Fury 2, or the Moome card. They have plusses and minuses to both, so you really have to figure out what works best for your setup, but I would also check out actual video performance.

I really think for best results a Video Processor is needed (or a HTPC, but that's not for everyone).

Help me out here . What's the difference?
I sort of appreciate that the CRT will handle more information than was usually fed to it at the time it was designed and that it is a happy coincidence that in an effort to make the picture better the manufacturers made the picture better enough so that the now available resolution of Blue Ray could be displayed. My confusion is in what do I need to feed the CRT to take advantage of this.
It occurs to me that TV's /projectors are going through something similar to what amplifiers did about 30 years ago. More power was available for a more reasonable price so people threw out their tube amps for the new solid state amps which were better in every way including cheaper. Now the people who can afford to do so are buying the same equipment that was thrown out then because IT SOUNDS BETTER. My speakers are horns; I bought them used about 20 yeas ago and I have yet to hear speakers that I like better. I accept that this is a personal taste issue and I believe that there is as much taste involved in what we see as there is in what we hear. Old equipment does not mean inferior equipment.
Any help getting this going is appreciated.
Thanks

There are a number of ways a Video Processor helps:
1. Custom timings. Most CRTs do not like the 1080p 60hz stock timings. Jail bars/raster ringing on the LH side, stuff like that.
2. With a custom timing 60hz 3:2 pulldown judder can also be avoided (48hz or 72hz).
3. Gamma. You can tweak the gamma - this really helps get the image to pop.
Something like a VP-50 or Lumagen feeded a HD-Fury or Moome card is the usual way.
I use a PC, for basically the same result (with much more fiddling needed).

I've been looking at an Ampro at a local shop. It was taken in on trade. It's huge and heavy. The lenses say "H-10" I've been led to believe that these lenses fit 9" guns and that this means it is a 4600. We have agreed on a price and I'll pick it up as soon as he finds the remote. I considered buying from this site and was going to but the shipping gets expensive when you live in the frozen north so when the chance to buy locally came up I just had to. I've been led to believe that the 4600 is comparable to the 8500 Marquee so now I'm back to what else do I need. Can I assume that this doesn't change anything?
And if he can't find the remote is there a way to use it anyway?

Right now my old Trusty Marquee 8000 with 8500 parts is the only one properly set up, the blend is still in progress had to send my one C2-2250 back because I broke the toggle switch on it(too much use messing around). but I'll get there. And the new GF is cramping my ole style ways.

The dealer found the remote so now I'm back to "What should go between the B-ray player or surround preamp and the projector". I'm assuming that the orientation of the picture can be reversed so that the mounting position is optional. Mounting this looks like a real challenge guessing by what loading it into the truck almost did to my two most favorite things.
