|
|
Ok, so a while back I accidently adjusted the blue G2 screw on my 1252q. Why are the focus and G2 screws so close!?!? I just found this http://www.curtpalme.com/Sony125x_White_Balance.shtm. I'd though it was worth a shot. So I pulled out my voltmeter, which is the same one as in the photos. From left to right here is what I got 9.86v, 11.30v, 11.35v, 0.00(Ground). How can that be right? I thought they all should be around 4v. Are they just set high or is there something wrong? Brightness and contrast are at defaults.
Thanks!
-Dave

Have you tried adjusting them to see if they come down?
Oh, and you do have your meter set do DC voltage, correct?

I haven't touched anything yet. And I just double checked that the meter is set to DC.
When I went out and tested them all again, I found that all 3 are reading about 11.3ish now. I am using the white test/convergance screen to do this, would that make a difference?

Does the 1252 have the jumper that you need to short the two pins out on?
In a related matter, does anyone know if there is a way to measure the G2 voltage on a 1270 or do you have to rely on the visual method?

Jumper, where? I didn't see any jumpers in the article or on my projector.
Now that I think about it... all the voltages where negative. I have my meter setup the same way shown in the photos. And... No! I don't have the red and black mixed up!

The 1270 has a three pin connector (on the CF2 board) that you need to short two of the pins together to adjust G2.
I don't know if the other 12xx projectors have this or not, but the levels (and I would suspect voltages) are very different between the two conditions.
