So I have the 6PG+ NEC mounted in the garage and am now tinkering with the setup. I having a hell of a time trying to get everything to line up. Take a look at the pitures I posted let me know if there is someone who can offer some setup advice. I have the Curt Palme primer and setup guide from this site but Its all new to me so this is why I am having a tough time. I guess I need to understand it from a 6th graders point of view! Should I invest in the set up DVD?? Take a look let me know what you guys think.

Thanks
Mike

Is your projector mounted EXACTLY square to the screen, and EXACTLY in the center of the screen ? It has to be in order to proceed, measure from a fixed point at the top right of the screen to each of the front and back four corners of your projector, then do the same from the exact opposite position on your screen. All the measurements from each screen position should be exactly the same.

That is the first step for an NEC, since they require exact positioning relative to the screen because they don't have infinitely variable scheimpfluge adjustment.

When you're done that, roughly the order is to set the astig for the roundest dots you can, then adjust the electronic focus for the best focus you can get, then center each colors raster on the tubeface, then recheck astig and focus, then adjust toe in to perfectly overlap the exact center crosshairs with the STATIC adjustments set to "0" for all three tubes. Once you have the centers of all three lined up perfectly while using "0" static adjustment, you're ready to start your setup in earnest.

Did you read the installation manual for your NEC projector ?

Well I am shooting the image on my wall for now as I will be building the screen around the image size and mount it on the wall. The machine is leveled and I guess the pics are off a bit as I had the camera on a tripod and slightly angled up to get the pics. The camera was probably too close! I will take the measurements when I get home to night however I think machine should be fairly sqare to the wall. Not sure if anyone in the Surrey White Rock area of BC is willing to come over to point out my mistakes but a little help would be greatly apprciated ( beer included! ). I will keep trying.

Thanks
Mike
