Hi

Have a Sony VPH-1271 PJ and a Sony Signal Interface Switcher PC-1271, this is fully loaded with IFB cards, this is where I have a problem, with audio.

One IFB card is an IFB-12 the one allows Component RGB (3 BNC only) to be used.

The problem I have is that with this card in any slot in the switcher I get distortrd audio on the right chanel only.

This card not only distorts any audio I feed in to it but with its pluged in the switcher it distorts all the audio sources fed in from any other IFB card, its being real pain in the butt.

Proved to this card as I have pulled it out live and the distorting went away, plugged it in live and back it came.

I was wondering if anyone out there has a service manual on this card so I could have a probe with a scope till I find the fault or at least know where the audio path goes that would give me half a chance.

I can see a couple of what look like OP-AMP chips (8 DIL) surface mount and they are by the dredded JRC make ! EKK! we at work don't like JRC as they seem to fail very quick, yet ST micro or Nat Semi IC's go in forever.

Any help would be great,

Thanks
