I've been having problems trying to get 6500K out of these tubes. Been working on it for hours. Can someone tell me why I can't get it?

Ultra toast. Beyond ultra toast, actually. Those tubes are like the steak you left on the grill because you passed out on the couch at 2:00am, only to find it the next day looking like a charcoal briquette, and the propane bottle empty. Not that I've ever done that or anything.

It looks like these tubes were burned by 6500 Kelvin (about 11,240 F* for the conversion challenged), but I don't think you're going to get that back out of them

THese came from the Daytona 500 racetrack simulator. I bought 25 sets, this one was by far the worst. No tubes were saveable out of any of these though. I'm retubing them with tubes I got out of a DWIN. Chassis are still running strong.
36,000 hours on this set, I think the tubes were original. Fungus on the green was so bad that NOTHING got through it, even at 100% contrast and brightness.

Those look like the steaks my father in law used to eat...
Never could understand how someone who had owned a meat shop and was always around family who raised cattle could eat a burnt steak, but then I guess that is just a little off topic

I'm seeing what almost looks like grey spray paint on the face of the middle one. Is that really what the burn looks like? I've never seen tubes burned so black they turned grey before.
I HAVE seen tubes that were worse than the one on the left, though.
Any emission left?

If you take a picture of the tubes and invert it, then you can create a mask and burn the unused section of phosphor to where it matches the worn area in the middle. Then you can maximize the raster across the entire tube face... just like new.

Curt, get some white spray paint, mask the frame, paint the glass, take a picture with a cell phone and sell them as is
"no visible wear"

Yeah, sure, it was one of the other dudes who obsessively tested the color output of a burned tube with various filters and a DSLR!
