|
|
While my projector was an 8500, when I would shut down the green tube would remain slightly lit.
I changed out the following:
lvps, hvps, vim, necks, cables between neck and vim.
Upgraded to new 9" tubes, and the problem was gone for about 10 hrs. It then reared its ugly head again, so I changed out all the above again. Problem is still there.
I'm looking at the control board now, R-9,10,11,48,49,50,51,56 are all within spec.
Looking at the schematics R18 should be 10k- 1/8w@1%. I'm getting 2.401K
R25 should be 2.0K- 1/8w@1%. I'm getting 1.697k
Is one or both of these a typo?
Is this even a possible reason for the tube to remain slightly lit?
Thanks
JIm

How long does it stay lit for, Mine will keep their Phosphor persistence for a few minutes then fade out. its natural for the green to do this, the P43 phosphor fades quicker.
Reading resistors while still in the circuit does not always read the correct valus as other components might be added into the readings.

Stays lit for one or two minutes, fading all the while.
I guess it sounds about right.
Well, that was quick and easy ...
Thanks

After I've been running my 9500 for a while, and I shut it down for the night, I can come back an hour later and still see a very faint afterglow on the green tube. But that's only in a fully dark room and I'm fully dark adapted.
