Hi,
First post to this forum and new to the world of CRT Projectors.
I have an entry level CRT projector SONY VPH_1272Q and have just purchased and received a MOOME SONY IFB-FULLHD 1.3 card. The card is installed and I connected a Sony BDP-S550 BD player to the card (HDMI connect) to try it out.
When playing a BD, the projector produces a heavy flicker and the picture folds bottom portion of screen to the top of screen. (Unwatchable)
Played a normal DVD through the BD player and it worked ok.
Setup of the BD player was Video 1080/24p output - Auto
For the BD I changed this from AUTO to OFF and get picture, but looks more like 480/60p as opposed to Full Hi-def.
Would someone be able to advise if I have missed something in setup or if additional h/ware is required?

Thanks in advance,
shinboner

You'll need to go into the menu on the Sony BDP-S550 and set your resolution to 1080i.
That projector can't display 1080p.

1080i is a nice sweet spot on that projector. You cold also try 720p if the tubes are in good shape.

CRT projectors can't do 24Hz refresh. I had the same issue when I put one of these cards in my G70. The HdFury I had been using wasn't compatible with 24Hz so the PS3 never tried to output that signal. Installing the Moome resulted in the same fail mode you describe.

Thanks so much for the fast reply AnalogRocks and betel.
Looks like my projector is fighting out of its weight division. The Moome card works well and I have set the video output to 1080i as instructed. The picture looks good and there is marked improvement in picture quality when watching BDs, even at 1080i. Given the projector's limitations, it will still keep me happy for the foreseeable future.
Thanks again guys!!

Glad you got it working. I have a Sony 1252 here it's had its hour counter rolled over at least once. They are long lasting projectors.
