First off what are your sources your feeding the Vim HD? I do not think any Component input can accept 1080p but i am not sure if any HTPC guys are doing it that way. I always thought 1080p was a HDMI only output and it would shut off 1080p through Component with the HDCP signal shutting it off from the source.

Also Moome is pretty good with taking care of problems:

The remote sensor on the cards is VERY difficult to activate. It doesn't generally receive the signal very well, and you need to reset the remote often. It is a fairly well known shortfall in the card. Experiment with positioning the remote at various angles to the sensor and push the adjustment buttons infrequently, leave lots of time between button pushes while you are trying to find the angle that works with the sensor...

Make sure that the 1080p/24Hz playback is disabled in the PS3 settings. If it's ON, PS3 will default to it for movie playback, and of course no CRT will sync to it (and even if it could, it would be unwatchable, because of judder).

K.Berger is right the PS3 needs to be set to 1080p@60 not 24.
