Rotten Tomators rates it only 29% (see: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/war_inc/) but I find their rating system tends to either score very high or low (never in the middle). I don't know this movie at all... anyone see it? Any good?

I really liked the cast and concept - I'm especially a John Cusack fan. I was really interested in this film before I saw it... But after seeing it, I was pretty disappointed.

It's supposed to be this quirky dark-comedy satirical look at the military-industrial complex and (what is obviously) a commentary on the United States' occupation in the middle east. Good concept, and on paper sounded interesting. The result was NOT what I was expecting. Sometimes the film had a very slick high-value production value and other times it looked low-budget. Sometimes the acting was really good with emotion and depth - while other times it felt like Naked Gun or Ace Ventura. It almost seemed like two different directors directed the film, and then they just edited the pieces together. I think the result was really confused and instead of interesting, it just turned out weird - with an even weirder ending.

A definite renter in my opinion - and then only if you can't think of anything else. I'd be curious about what anybody else who's seen it thinks, though. Sorry to poo-poo it. I guess it wouldn't be bad at $9.99... you could always sell or trade it for something else at that price.

You're right that at $10 USD it's worth it.... Our local Blockbuster's given $10 CAD for any Blu-ray trade-in. That works out to only a couple of bucks to watch the movie!

In the end it's rarely the $$$, it's more whether I want to commit 2 hours of my precious free time to watch something... Wink
