Got it Monday. Very Happy

9501 LC. It's actually that unit Curt got from that dude in Texas with the busted green tube and leaky chamber.

He's put in a decent green an there is no trace of glycol.

He's even going to try to stop by on his way through Calgary on Saturday to help me set it up!

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I can't wait! Twisted Evil

Congrats!!!! HOPE YOU ENJOY HER!!

Blue looks a bit worn, If I ever get more time to finish up more neck cards with the Thomas tube mods I can put one in a LC chamber and
test it with a VNB and then i can ship it to you. swap out the magnetics and send me the magneticless tube and LC housing and your VNB. We can figure out a decent price.

Nice, now you just need to search out the elusive red C-element so you get the same great colors you had with the NEC. Looks like fun Thumbs Up

I do have a lead on a Red C element. I'll likely install in conjunction with Nash's bellows.

I also want a MP HDMI input card.

Huh, look... a projector I can mod!!! Twisted Evil

Another thought. The colored part of the colored lenses on the PG+ are the same size as the HD 10... can I take the front half off each and swap (leaving the back 1/2 of the HD-10 on the projector)?

Drat! The colored part is on the back of the lens isn't it?

The blue is a bit worn, but is isn't too bad. I can wait a while on replacing it. Curt put in a much better green than was in there before. I'll be maxing the rasters to finally fill my screen. I can't wait. I don't care if I can see a bit of the wear pattern. My red tube on the PG+ is about the same wear and I don't see it once a movie is playing.

THe strange thing is, on the bench here, the green has far less visible wear than the blue, but it's more noticeable. I'll be playing with the zone adjustments to minimize the wear seen on screen, but it will be minimal.

I don't think that the set will be on a lot of hockey this year though, so no worries..Wink

Flames suck! Mr. Green

Crap, can't believe I posted that, since I'm heading to Alberta on Saturday.. They'll be awaiting, ready to kick the crap out of a Wet Coast nerd... Thumbs Up

Green C element maybe making it more noticeable?

no. Blue wear pushes yellow and green wear pushes magenta (purple). Purple sticks out more than Yellow.
The tubes are fine, thousand of hours left on those suckers. If you have HD10L getting rid of them should be job 1 IMO.

Actually if your screen is not to large the HD10L's are better for the smaller screen than regular HD10's at least from my experience.

I just don't have room for one of those long beasts, nor the extra $$ to secure it. Maybe in the next house... Wink

I'm a bit concerned about it. I have a lead on a red C element, but won't know for a while.

I wish I could use my NEC lenses on it.

Yea Mr. Green. I wish I could get those cross hatches to appear on my tubes Twisted Evil Our progress will be interesting for all to see. 9500 L/C for us both.

I had to move the P/J from its set-up location to show my house today Sad Shocked Thumbs Up Question

So I can put it back tomorrow and try to reset it again as the convergence dropped out again.

Is there a race now? Who set theirs up right the fastest. O.K not really but ..... Laughing

I have my camera back and will be posting screen shots soon.

And what size are the lens allen bolts? 3.5mm?

I've looked around and can't find those lens bolts anywhere. I took one with me all over the place and can't find an exact match.

You are selling your house with a CRT in there. Hide it or they'll want it! Still you might want to table mount it for now. Moving a 185 pound beast every time you have a showing can't be fun.

My camera licks at taking screenshots. Working on that part, hence my camera help please thread.

Dude, after spending a year setting up the NEC, if it's up by this weekend, I'll be super excited.
