At first the screen would show that no signal was present...at some point that went away. I now have nothing on the screen, no menus, nothing. Any ideas what I could try next?

Start with adding more info so everyone has a better idea what you've tried, what works, what doesn't ?
Start with what model DWIN ?
Have you tried a known good signal to all available inputs on the projector ?
Does it display internal test patterns ? (or did it ever, if you're getting nothing now...)
Can you verify it is even responding to remote signals ? Is the remote on the right "address" or does it even need to be ? Does it have onboard controls ? Any response to them ? Can they be locked out in any fashion ?
Just saying its got a blank screen isn't much to go on...

Again, I haven't read it, but maybe it will help.
From the little reading I'm doing, you MUST have negative-negative synch, and it is VERY picky about which signal it will display, and you won't get ANY menu's without a signal to display(crazy setup if you ask me, but after all, it is the OTHER American designed projector...).
Also, I saw mention of the crappyness of the remote...
And it does use Toshiba tubes, apparently at very low levels so they take forever to show wear, DWIN supposedly rated them at 20,000 hours of useful life...

If you get it to show anything, you can check the hours with this:
Dwin hours,
PJ on, on the remote press menu, 9, 0, enter, 9, 8
1 second each hit.

I owned one before...so it's not like I'm not aware of all of that stuff.
THe fact that the screen is now blank is not good...I think I hear a faint ticking sound coming from the power supply.
Negative to negative synch of course...that's what I'm setup for. Problem now is there is nothing on the screen...nothing. The remote works, the projector powers on, but no pic. I thought it might be pic mute, but it doesn't exist.

I think the projector is not getting HV (no crackling)...and thus no pic. I also think the ticking sound in the power supply could be a blown cap or something...anyone have any suggestions?

Did you read any of those threads I linked to ?
Steve Brunosky(sp?) was describing a problem with his DWIN's ps and I'm sure he mentioned some specific parts that were changed...
