Can a small scratch on the red lense cause a red "bloom" on the screen? Right side only.

A "small scratch" on the outside of the lens should not cause anything like "bloom", nor even be visible on-screen at all for that matter.
To be noticeable, you'd need many scratches, or a large abrasion, and even then, it would show up as an area of lower resolution and lower contrast... lighter darks and darker lights and not quite as sharp... and being only on one lens, the effects would be subtle - not obvious.

It is another problem than a slight front lens scratch! What projector, what lens ? Did you turn contrast down and look in the lens ? Did you go check Clarences out yet ? What are you doing in Boca ?

What a lot of questions. 9500L/C marquee lense unknown.
Not yet I will look in when I get back to Maryland.
No Clarence and I have not hooked up yet.
Thinking about relocating near relatives in boca.

Holy monkey butt batman. Clarence that is amazing. So It sure looks like something else. Maybe a gamble but I think I am buying this one. I think it is just dirty and needs tweaking then.

The bloom could be "fungus" in the glycol of the red tube.
Or it could just be bad stig, bad schiempflug, or bad EM focus.

Fungus requires draining glycol, washing out the chamber with CLR, then refilling with new glycol. Not easy. But not impossible.
Stig, scheimpflug, and focus are basic setup steps... easy to get to the 90% solution (enough to get rid of fuzzy blooming), but it takes skillz (or a pro) to get it almost perfect.

Well I got mad skills.  See 2+2=4.  I did see some Blobs at the bottom of the lenses looked like cottage cheese. Fungus? I'm talking, very small more like specs but something is there.
