So I have a good set (or two) of BArco 1200 tubes, which are the same tubes as used in a 1292 or Ampro 4200. I can take the glass tubes out of the Barco housing no problem, but haven't ever ripped apart a 1292 tube to see if it comes out as easily.
Has anyone tried, or should I take pix of the process (and the glass shards in the eye!) for everyone to follow along?

It was similar work to get tube out of 1292 housing, no problem. I still have 1292 housing, so I can take picture of glued surfaces if that help.
1292 09MFX3 tubes have 14 mm longer neck what BG1200 09MX/09MI tubes. Other dimensions and pin out is same, but BG1200 tubes had some pins cutted. So check first are 1292 neck board using those cutted pins.

Graham has done it lots of times.
He just smashes the old tube out.
Don't rip the metal bellows.

Sides are easy to cut from outside, but top and bottom have heatsinks in front of glued seam so I cutted those from inside.
