In going through focusing of the nec xg, I keep coming to a brick wall on the right edge. I get the "range over" error. How do I fix that?

Most every adjustment is at 0 or in the middle. That's the only one that is giving me troubles.

Hm. My immediate reaction was to say you need to check your mechanical setup -- absolutely straight & square to the screen. But if every other adjustment is in the middle...... hm. You might still check your mech setup.

There are a couple of possible options. It could be that your ASTIG is off on the right side and you need to dial that in better. The other way to get more side adjustment is to adjust your focus pot until the side is in focus, then use the menu adjustments for the other areas. Or position the focus pot somewhere in between so that all area have enough adjustment.

I figure I could do something like that, but that seems like a band-aid fix. What might cause the range over error?

My strongest belief is that ASTIG needs to be dialed in better for the color (R,G, or B) that you're having the focus problem with. When you go to the ASTIG adjustment, can you see a difference in the dot shape on the right comparing your bad color to one of the better ones? Or if you put up a crosshatch pattern, are the horizontal lines the same thickness as the vertical ones?
