At the recent CEDIA event Sony had a BD mega changer on display. At that time, they said it would be available in the first 1/4 of 2009. Since then I have heard nothing from Sony, or anyone else for that matter about it. Has anyone else heard anything? I really need one of these to finish off my theater rack which is out in the garage. For me to watch a DVD or BD I have to walk outside and into the garage to change it.

They are probably thinking way too few people have 100 or more BD disks to warrant such a product, even though you and I would like it greatly. And considering the costs of manufacturing should be all that expensive, because there are so few folks looking for this kind of solution the price will be (initially) unreasonably high.

That being said, most of the regular DVD megachangers were accompanied with slow UIs that did a terrible job at interfacing with the user. I would hope that Sony move forward with their other product platform, which was essentially a HTPC media server.

You have to think past BD. Remember, it also stores and plays std def DVD and CD's and I have no intension (well perhaps a couple) of replacing my intire DVD collection. With that in mind, now how close could you come to filling the changer Wink
