When I first power up, I have to raster shift the red most time, then have to tweak convergence a lot. Started noticing that I am having to do focus adjustments now on the red lens.
Anybody have an idea, never had to do this before a few months ago. Could something be loose?
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks

Left or right or up and down?

Usually left, hardly ever up and down.

just wondering....
up until a couple months ago you had NO shift cold or warmed up?
and now if you switch it on and do not touch it for 20 or 30 minutes how far left does the red shift? is the shift linear or is one side of the raster stretching/shifting more than the other?

Now that you mention it, it is shifted more on the botton left than anywhere else. I usually have to raster shift then mess with convergence. I am maxed out on some of them,
History, this seems to have pre-dated all of my problems. I got a PS3 for the BluRay. Got an HD Fury and Gamma X. I had trouble getting it working so I cleared all programs and went through all the setup again. I now have it working at 1080p, but this is the first time I've had the problem where it drifts.
I may have something off a bit from when I went through all the mechanical adjustments. I will probably try this again to see if I can stabilize it.

I had the problem where red would suddenly move left or right (cannot remember which now) by about 1/2" on the screen. This was in a Barco 808 and it turned out I had a faulty horizontal shift and focus board. It is on the exact opposite end of the projector from the G2 focus/diagnostic board. This board controls the horizontal position of at least red and blue.
You might also want to make sure that all the rasters are approximately the same size. I have had it where, after tube replacement one of the rasters was larger than the others. This drove the convergence a lot harder and I had drift problems until I figured it out.

Yes, I tried to go through all the adjustments again. I noticed that after I set all back to midpoint, the red genlocked pattern is bigger than the blue or green. That is why I believe I'm having trouble pulling it in with the convergence. How do I adjust the size of the raster for red? I saw though the adjustments how I can shift it, but not size it.

I went through all the adjustments again and now I have the convergence much closer to mid-points. I think I had some alignments and focusing issues before. All is good again.

Until last week, I've never had a Barco part/module issue cause convergence drift in the later model sets.
Kal says that his old 800 had a lot less drift after he changed all the power supply caps.
Last week I loaned an 808 convergence tray to a guy in Seattle. He emailed back that the new tray solved all his drifting issues. I have yet to test his tray in my test set here, but I'm curious what I'll find.
