But, but I don't need it
Given that the screen is broken and I don't want a RPTV it would either need to be easy to set for FP or have good tubes I could use in my G70.
Maybe I'll PM the guy and ask for some pictures.

If I can get some they will be posted here.
I'm guessing this thing will have LC optics and some short throw lenses?

You'll spend $200. on coffee over the next month, but its too much for an LC XG with short throw lenses in a cube configuration ?
If I was in the US I'd snap that one up...

It's like the Barcos I think. A metal cube within the set with short throw LC lenses, no case on the metal cube. A kickass set though, I love my BG808s retro..

I would never spend $200 on Coffee through the course of any month, I drink cheap stuff
I don't think the price is too much, if it has good tubes it is an awesome deal. I just don't need it or really even have a use for it.
Still tempting though.

I get it you want the tubes for your G70.

I'm not sure of that yet. For all I know the tubes could be burnt crispy. Waiting on pictures.

I have attached the Operation and Set-up manuals for the NEC MultiSync XG85RP/XG85RPW & MultiSync XG135RP.
Model numbers:
XG-852C/XG-1352C
The Operation Manual contains specs and cabinet sizes.
They are LC machines.
Weight is just under 500 lbs
Page 5 of the Set-up Manual has a drawing of the projection portion.

Just be aware that the HV lead is attached to the SIDE of the tube, not the top like a normal P16.
I don't know if this will be an issue or not.

From what I've read the guy has a wife problem, I think you could get for less, I just hope he doesn't read this thread.

While you might, how would you snap it up if you were a teenager without a drivers license?
Honestly, no offense Erik, where are you getting this disposable income to buy this stuff?
As an alternative, I mentioned this to Nash in one of his threads. How about getting into contact with Thomas Electronics. They are in western NY. According to Nash, the tube he got from them looks real nice. Maybe they can do decent rebuilds for a cheap price.
Jask,
It is over on AVS and it is in Ohio.

Hello all. I'm the owner of the NEC xg retro. Now that I see $200 is a fair price LOL. Okay here's the deal. The thing works and I watched the movie 300 on it last night for kicks. I am not a NEC guy.Took me 15 minutes last night to remember how to select the s-video input. I've owned three of the barco retro units and I bought the NEC because it was a 72" instead of 67" Also it was suppose to have better performance and specs then my barco 808 retro had. Yes the screen was/is broken. I put in a piece of white translucent plexi and it makes it watchable. Well I never knew how hard it would be to find a real replacement 72" screen without spending big bucks so the thing has set collecting dust. The wife has strongly suggested it find a better home LOL. Not trying to sell it here just read the forum and realized it was about my unit and figured go straight to the source type of thing. I'd be happy to answer any questions if anyone has any after buying this thing I realized it wasn't as common as say the barco retro units so if you want any info let me know.
I tried taking pics and can get some distance shots but when I get close-up the flash wipes out any detailed info.
I believe the actual model is a xg 1350 and it has HD70 lenses on it. Any other questions feel free to ask? Oh yeah and parting it out isn't an option either. Last thing I need is a non-working 600 pound NEC sitting around LOL.

Hi Spanky,
Well now I am 18 and have my license . I also have a part time job to fund my hobbies. Selling things off of my giant pile of "need no more crap" also helps to fund these projects, almost all the "toy" money comes from selling other toys that I bought cheap .

Welcome to the forum,
Well that answers the lens question. If we could get some tube pictures that would really help. I *may* be coming down to your area next week, if this happens I'll be interested in picking it up. However anyone is welcome to go chasing after this thing. I don't need another project and there would be no hard feeling if someone snuck it out from under me.
Thanks,
Erik
