$29 shouldn't set you back to much. Maybe you could trade him one of those Barcos you just got and let him pick up the shipping. That way you aren't out any money. It looks like the only reason he is getting rid of it is because he can't fix it.

GIS for Aquaray:
The best part is that the page itself has a description, including this gem of a grammar error:
| Quote: | | Most Atlantians survived when their greatest hero Aqua-Ray used his power to create and suitable environment at the bottom of the ocean. This left him in a very weekend state. |
Fantastic.

7" plastic TAC lenses, Thomson tubes I think. Ultra unreliable due to the first generation CPU diagnostic setup really close to HV stuff, and generally poor construction. The smallest CRT projector you've ever seen though, smaller than a Sony 10XX series. I really should try and get mine running...

Well there's a 1960s Philips projector that is much smaller than this one, it's a portable, schmidt optik monochrome projector. I stored the pics on dvd, so don't have them at hand for posting, was sold for 654 euro on the German ebay last year.

I've got one of these:
...hanging in my office. I used to have it run winamp visualizations on the far wall, but I moved the computer that was running it (VGA -> NTSC using some funky stuff) so now it just hangs there. Resolved 480i like a treat, though.

Yikes! That brings back nightmares. A product with engineering problems, yep. But the really sad ones were the manufacturing f'ups. ESP put alot of effort into diagnosing why there was such a problem shipping the projectors. Random problems everywhere made it look like a totaly bad design but no one caught on that the random problems were diodes inserted backwards, wrong value resistors installed here and there, electrolytic caps backwards in the boards, bad crimps on wiring harness terminals. All that kind of crap masked the real engineering faults.
The CPU was actually one of the more reliable systems in the projector. I'll never forget the flashing "13" error code for HV fail. What an appropriate number for that. It happened alot.

It's a "LimeLight computer projector" - that's about all the information there seems to be on it. It's the only CRT projector I've seen that's simpler to operate than any digital - focus, brightness, contrast, and one BNC connector for NTSC video!

Yeah, but it's only green. It's like somebody took a Barco Vision 600 and chopped either side off!
I'll have to drag that down and set it up in my HT. Now THERE'LL be a contestant for the low-end projector screenshot shootout!

What for? A Cliff Benham Colorwheel set-up? Don't think he went through with doing his colorwheel work to the Green ECP and replacement green tube he got from the Manufacturer just before it sold the shop to Christie, or was it when Christie cleared the CRT biz.

Well, this recycled goods company is selling these Vivid Systems Incorporated units, though at a recycler's price of 175 USD.
http://www.recycledgoods.com/item/26465.aspx
The "Limelight Computer Projector" is available from VIVID Systems, Inc., 2440 Embarcadero Way, Palo Alto, California 94303; call 415/424-1600. The 1985 listprice was 4K USD. Screensize 6 feet, while pricey it was cheaper than filling a classroom with computers.
