Has anyone had the chance to see this documentary? It is basically an hour long look at how the whole Iraq war was handled.

I don't think there is much new information here, if any, but it is easy to follow and all of the items are in order and make more sense than trying to interpret from hundreds of different news stories.

Obviously politically charged, but still worth an hour of your time if you are at all interested about the war.

I cannot imagine it was handled too much better than Vietnam by the French and Americans. Westerners should protect their own, but not force other cultures into a western mold.

And the original effort is undoubted slighted by corporate greed.

well you can't really talk about War without having it be politically charged. I liked this documentary, it was a Frontline episode right?
The thnig it showed was that everyone Bush Appointed to run this war was a total Moron. From Rumsfled, to Bremmer, to Rice. All Totally clueless about War and insurgency and yet given the lives of thousands of American soldiers in their hands. The best part of the show was when they detailed how the first successful strategy to calm the country down called "clear, hold, Build" came from a one start General in Iraq. Rumsfled actually foughht it as a challenge to his authority.
I wsih I could say things are changing but the Clinton era (it's back) was almost as much Global expansionism and Imperialism as we had in the last 8 years.

I agree it was dumbfounding to see so many non-military experienced people making decisions. Not only that but the post war occupation was planned by people who NEVER even went to IRAQ!

That process came down to a simple decision. When the Whitehouse planned the war, there was a difference of strategy between Don Rumsfeld @ the DOD and Colin Powell @ the State Dept.

Rummy felt it would be quick and easy, no need for lots of troops or massive occupation. Powell thought we needed overwhelming force and occupation that could then be withdrawn as the gov stood up.

President Bush chose Rummy.
