Seems to me that the EVR renderer makes a much nicer pic than any of the others...I can't even imagine the need for any sharpening or denoise.

Are all of you using evr or something different + ffdshow?

The last few 720p mkv's looked really, really good through evr. Although it might tear a tad more than vmr9 renderless...I'm still not sure if that's the case.

Typically I use Haali Renderer.

I can't see any difference between them, but Haali is smoother.

I do the RGB conversion (with High Quality ticked) in Ffdshow, and am watching 1080p material (downscaling HD material is immoral)on a 1920 x 1080 resolution which means the renderer is basically a passenger for sharpness/scaling etc.

Use the Reclock tearing test to check for Tearing.

Never really tried Haali...but I will try it next.

I'm pretty confident that the MPC-HC's anti-tearing setting will work fine...it's just that when I'm messing around, I need to jump forward and backward through the movie. If I watch a movie start to finish, I'll use the anti-tearing setting...

Now...let's see this Haali renderer.....
