So, Sunday I am watching the first NFL playoff game and all of a sudden my picture goes away. After turning everything off and then back on it comes back........for 5 minutes and then goes away again. The projector is still running (fans running, some lights on) but no picture. I turn everything off and then back on again and the picture stays.........until the last 2 minutes of the second game. I tried all sources with the same problem.

Tuesday I tried again. This time the picture comes up, pulsates for about 5 seconds and goes away. The picture was fairly dim and not sharp. The time it takes the picture to disappear has accelerated from a few minutes to seconds from Sunday to today. Anybody have an idea? So far I have heard Quad or Power Supply. If it were the power supply wouldn't the whole projector shut down and not just the picture?

Check to see if the red EHT light comes on on the EHT board when the picture goes out. I'll bet it does, indicating a problem in the HV section.

Let me know. I'll shoot you an email as well.

Does the 1209/2 have the newer EHT in it?

I believe it is the same as the 1209. I think the only dfference in the 1209 and 1209/2 are the neck cards.

I just replied to your email. I've got the parts in stock regardless of what version it is.

I'm just curious whether the newer EHT fails as often as the earlier ones.

MOre often. Smile

It's actually not the EHT board that fails as often, the newer quadruplers are POS in my opinion. With a small mod on my end, you can swap the quad and EHT board to the older style. THey'll work the same.
