So I finally broke down and picked up a PS3 after waiting to see if they would come down a bit at christmas or after christmas. No luck there.

so I set things up and everything works great.
I have the ps3 connected to a HDfury2, gammax and then to the port3 of my barco 808.

i've set the picture up and have watched a blu-ray movie and a standard movie. both looked awesome.

i've played grand tourismo prologue and resistance 2. both looked great.

but this evening I went to play guitar hero 3 and it looked like the picture shifted to 4:3 and filled up my whole raster

I went into video on the PS3 and its set to 1080i but after I did an automatic setup and 1080p suggestion came up and I said "no" it went back to letterbox and everything was sort of reset.

anyone who knows PS3 more than I do have any suggestions on how for me to set this up.

thanks

There are two output resolution setting on the PS3. One for movies and one for games. Cruise the menu. It's in there.

I don't have one in front of me just now so sorry I can't give you a step by step.

Forgot to add some games will only work in 720P mode. Not 1080i.

i made the adjustment in the "display setting" headings.

I'll check around more but I could remember seeing anything elsewhere to change the settings. I know resistance 2 and guitar hero are both at 720p

Did you set your projector up for 720P?

There's probably a memory block already in your projector that was 4:3 and close to the scan frequency for 720P ( 45KHz ). When the game started it probably locked onto that memory block.
