Hello,
When setting up a G70 do you have to do any magnetics adjustment by hand? I've gone through all of the electronic magnetic focusing, is this all that has to be done or can you get real improvement by fine tuning the magnetics by hand?
Thanks,
Erik

Unless someone has attempted to adjust them or the tubes were replaced, they don't need to be adjusted. They CPC rings should have a blob of silicone on them to hold them from moving..

How original is your set? When you reset to factory how decent is your geometry?
1) Do you apply a lot of electronic SKEW? if so your focus coils (yokes) might need tweaking to correct the horizon.
2) With a dot pattern if you adjust MagAll from under to over focus do the dots drift? If so you might need CPC tweaking.
I ran a couple years without adjusting the magnetic's. I experienced some drifting an convergence errors as the PJ warmed up.
After adjust the yokes and CPC magnetic I experienced very little drift and I might touch convergence twice a year.
