My Runco DTV-1100 does not have any label on the lenses. How do I find out, what lenses I have. I took a picture of one of the lenses:
Does anyone know which lens this might be?
Thanks.
Best regards
Oliver

I have not had it very long and I love it. Best one I've ever seen except for Kris Robert's G90, which was set up way better than mine ever will be.

The lenses on my Runco 1101 are the exact same as the lenses on my Runco 1200 (cine9).
Barco lists the standard lens for 1209S and Cine9 as a HD120.
Extensive testing here puts the Barco/Runco version lenses at a considerably higher performance
level than same year model (2002) HD10GT17 that came on my TAW900 (VDC 9500Ultra)
Edge and Corner focus on an 8' screen is much better for the Barco/Runco lenses,
very similar to the g90 HD10F ....
The range of screen sizes for the HD120/Barco/Runco is not very large, nor will they
work well on a curved screen - but for a flat 8' screen, they are just fine compared to
G90 HD10F or HFQ900 (HD-10E) - In other words, you will not see an improvement
by changing lenses unless you are using a very small or very large, or curved screen.

I thought the HD-120 lenses were essentially the same as the HD-10GT17. Mine are at the closest of their range at about 88". I need to move the projector back to fill the screen I have (48 x 85")

The GT17's look similar in that the rear element also has a deep curvature,
however the performance is different - as noted above. Throw distances
for HD10 series lenses are very similar - the "range" mentioned is that
of 'workable' screen sizes for good focus. The Barco/Runco/HD120 are
very good in in a limited range of normal size HT flat screens. Others, like
the HFQ900, or (g90)HD10F, will work from rather small to very large, and
accept a significant curvature, and still maintain good focus out to the corners.
One possible advantage of the deeply curved rear element, which I have perceived,
but can't prove, is that by matching more closely the curve of the c-element the
light is transmitted more efficiently with less scattering, and the 'intrascene' contrast
may be better. Just an idea, based on a perception, and hard to quantify.
The throw distance is just the result of the raster width and screen size, and the
magnification of the lens - it works out to whatever works, and all the calculations
are rough guides. One thing to remember is that Barco, Sony, and Marquee all
use different LC housings and the tube face is located at a slightly different
distance from the c-element, which affects the magnification. For example,
Barco puts the tube back a few mm compared to Marquee or g90, which
results in a significantly 'shorter' throw for the same size screen and raster.
