Hello all,
Happy New Year to everyone,
we have about another 9hrs till I let off the fireworks off our terrace Laughing

Just a quick question about my friends Marquee 9500LC,
His image seems to do this intermittently, brightness decreases/ or increases about 3 clicks,
then back to normal then cycles randomly up and down.

It is random, can do it from first turn on, or like 2hrs later, then starts.

I went through his complete machine and cleaned every contact and socket.
His room is very cold around 10'c at the moment, but I don't see this as a problem, as there is no humidity.

I will be checking his supply voltage from the wall outlet, but I don't think that this is the cause.

Would appreciate any idea's or comments.

Cheers
Steve

Is it defocusing as well or just gets dim then comes back up, and is it for all tubes? if all tubes then its not the VNB's.
Vim, CLM or a Power supply i'd bet.
Hopefully Curt or Tim will know more, i have not seen this yet, just the defocusing and cutting out issue.

Too bad my sister isn't a tech (unless you need some cancer research done), she's in Basel right now..Smile

If this is floor mounted, then I'd suspect a glycol leak that's gotten into the backplane.

If not, then the last 9000LC I had this happen in (red tube only) was the CLM or VIM. I sent the customer both, he replaced both, problem went away. It could be the HVPS but I doubt it.

Yes it is all 3 tubes,
Ceiling mounted.

Hmm, Thanks for the pointers, I will swap out both and see if it fixes.

I don't wish cancer upon anyone,
Hope your Sister is enjoying the fresh dump of snow we had last night.

Cheers
Steve
