they do exist!
I've created one..
I recently obtained a free Barco Data 600 with reasonable tubes, complete with the RCVDS unit. I've asked a female friend if she would like to have it. She has seen the 909 of spotmatic a while ago, when she came along for the ride.
She liked the idea, but first would have to check with her boyfriend if it would be ok as they're currently moving in together. Luckily for her he's ok with it, she thinks the small Barco is cute.
Any others out there?

My wife owns the remotecontrol so i'm afraid the Barco is controlled by her.
For who it might intererest the wall is the same colour now than de Barco cover. (no need to do a paintjob on a Barco)

I've sold two sets in the past to women that set them up themselves. Lori is one member here, the other woman I haven't heard from since her focus board popped in her NEC a year ago. She bought it about 7 years ago, that was the first repair.
FWIW, I set up the BR player last night and did a reconverge on the 9500. Sparky saw the difference between a 'regular' DVD and BR played in the same machine.

I created one with my G/F she use to stare glassy eyed at me when I talked tech. Now she has a D50 running 480P from a digital cable box and I just added a Samsung DTB-H260F ATSC/QAM tunner with HDFury1 into an IFB-12 card in her PC1271 switcher last night.
We switched back and forth between 480P and 1080i on ABC, they were playing Pirates of the Caribian 1. She really saw the difference! I've convertered her She also hates flat panel displays especially the little ones. Terible picture.
So yes, there are female projector owners.

The first time my wife caught the CRT projector hanging from the mini me theater she paused about hearing that it was ~140 pounds directly above the sweet-spot seat. She thought I was trying to kill her. Then, 30-minutes later she forgot all about it and put 1500 hours on the unit in the first year.
Maybe explosive bolts and a really nice insurance policy should have been my modus for upgrading?

Just be sure to open a window and clear out the smell of cordite before calling the insurance company!
