|
|
Guys,
how normal is it to have a diminishing circular beam collapse on shutdown of BarcoGraphics 1209s? It's not going to spot burn as it starts off very broad, and gets smaller, finishing about 5mm in diameter. I have a friend who has the same consecutive serial number 1209s from the same source, he is seeing the same issue. Our BG's run PT22-30 green tubes, and LPB's for blue and red.
Is this 'common' or do I need to be concerned.
Dan

I think you should have kept the G70 as a backup

Hello
Did this just start happening? One tube or all? You may have issues with the spot kill system.

It has happened since I got it, and identical to the other 1209s we got at the same time. Pretty sure it's with all tubes, I'd have to check, but definately green.

It's got the soft edge modulation and was setup in a commercial blend. Unusual for both projectors to be exibiting the same 'problem'?

I've seen this with Panasonic tubes before. If it's a very dull 'fireworks' explosion in the middle of the tube without actually going to a defined dot, don't worry about it.

Sounds like a contamination G1 short in the CRT if only on one tube. Not much to worry about though...

I can see this as well on my 1209s. The 808 was similar, if I remember correctly.

Yes, I do have a cane. I do not have a Sencore yet, so I used the cane. Worked quite well with just a gentle tap on the gun area.

Isn't it the 17 volt control circuit that needs to be adjusted?

Yes, I think so. I'll have to check.

Recently I've checked my 17 Volt rail, and that was ok. So I doubt the TS needs to adjust the 17 Volt rail. Of course checking it is always ok.
But isn't this just normal behaviour of the set?
