Who here is using Netflix?

I'm thinking of signing up for the three movies at a time plan and would like to hear other opinions on how well it works. Has anyone had problems with bad discs or movies that have been hard to get?

It looks like there is an additional $1 per month charge for Blu-rays, are there any other fees to worry about?

Any and all feedback is welcome.

Thanks,

Erik

We used Netflix for the longest time. We finally got down to 2 movies a month and also had the BD option. But, we started collecting so many HD and BD DVDs that we were months behing in just watching what we had.

The final nail was we got DISH HD. We are not ones that have a burning desire to see a movie as soon as it comes out; we wait.

As far as the actual service, it was as well as could be expected. I'd say over 3 years, we probably had 2 DVDs that were not watchable.

Other than that, I think they are pretty good for the price and selection.

We have used netflix for a very long time like 6 years I think. We have never had a problem aside from the occasional disc scratch. Even discs "lost" in the mail have not been an issue. The wife just figured out she could get on demand video to the HD tivo from netflix so she's stoked. They are way fast on getting the movies here too.

I have the 3 at a time plus BD deal it and works well. I have even set it up to view the on demand stuff on my projector through my computer to the PS3 using a media server software. Right now it is SD stuff and does not look great but Netflix recently started streaming HD to X-boxes so it should not be to long before it is available on the PC.

Do you know if it is 720p or 1080i? Not that it would really matter to me anyway as my DSL likely wouldn't be fast enough for HD.

How does the VOD work? Is it unlimited, or is it factored it to the number of discs you have out at a given time?

Thanks for the replies so far.

I have the 5 at a time plan, love it. Great delivery times and almost no problems with damaged discs. 5 unwatchables in 5 years and we watch 4 or 5 in a week. Bummed that they have dropped hd-dvd, but got the bluray going so no worries.

Not sure, they just say HD. The vod is unlimited but there is a limited amount of movies and tv shows that they have available. I think they way the vod works is it will download to your device's buffer and then play. I have noticed with the SD stuff if I start a show and then pause it and then wait awhile and then watch it that it plays smoothly.

I used to have Netflix and then dropped them when they sided with BR. Went to BB and they are about twice as slow to ship and don't have VOD yet.

Just went back to netflix when they announced HD streaming to xbox. Working great on Xbox even though the selection isn't the greatest yet. Most of my fav TV shows though such as office, heroes, lost, etc. Only went with the single movie at a time since we have cut back on the movies lately.
