So, to continue my projector saga, I swapped to the 4-pole stig magnets and put my 9" tubes in on the ceiling for the first time!! Now, would like to reassemble the projector but I've run into something unexpected.
I figured the x-ray shielding from my 8" tubes would not be a perfect fit, but in looking at it this morning, I'm not even sure how the heck to jam it in there.
It seems apparent that the shielding is not held in by the C shaped bracket I had used previously, because the aluminum housings for the 9" tubes are large enough that the bottom of the plate bolted to them sits where the bottom of the C shaped bracket would have been. Also, there is a set of holes in the bottom plate that line up precisely with the holes in the C bracket for the bottom cover and side covers, so it appears that these covers screw directly into the bottom plate.
The width of the x-ray shielding extends beyond these four holes, which makes sense because this extended portion was held in place by the top of the C bracket, whereas on the C bracket the four holes for the bottom and side covers are in the bottom of the C. So, my question is, can anyone who has done a 8" to 9" conversion pass along any hints? Should I seek out shielding made for the 9" tubes? Cut the shielding to fit? Jam the shielding under the bottom plate?
Help would be appreciated.

You can "mod" the 8" shield to work in a 9" Marquee. A few holes and cuts for the HDM and FM. The main top shield is held in place with the two screws that also hold the top main cover on.

the main part of the LC shielding is actually 3 seperate pieces and it's held in place by a very thin piece of aluminum, the C-bracket is for AC only and will not fit here.
Basically, what they did was cut the main part of the shielding into 3 pieces. They cut them just inside the outer mounting hole, so the 2 outside pieces can go around the tube and grab the outside screw hole on the top LC plate. Then they took the center piece and glued the 3 "wings" to it. IT's now 3 pieces instead of the original 4.
I wish I had a pic but I can't seem to find any?
