Do you have a picture, likely HD-144/145 lenses if AC, I believe HD-18 if LC, the lenses should have a ID sticker.

An 1100 is not an LC unit. An XG 110LC is an 1101.

Both 144 and 145 are similar, they should both be color filtered and sharp lenses, the only difference will be throw distance. I believe the 144's have slightly shorter throw.

since your PJ is air coupled (AC) you should have a look at this tutorial:

HI all. Just picked up an NEC XG 1101, & a 1351 off of ebay. I'm picking up the 1101 from the shipper in the mourning. Got the 1351 because it had the acon, & higher bandwith. If these aren't junk, this will be my first CRT set-up. What mods can/need to be done to these? Will changing the lenses to 144/145s work, or even be an improvement? Also, fo Neutral r typical home theater, is there any advantage to the 1351 over the 1101? Thanks for any input.

1. The only mod I would do is to solder a 3 watt 100ohm resistor in the red fan wire to the fan on the deflection board, because is is a noisy little bugger, and the deflection board runs cool in an XG. When you know which board is the deflection board, you will be ready to do the mod Wink

2. LOL, you don't want HD-144 lenses, you have HD-18 liquid coupled lenses, WHICH ARE MUCH BETTER.

3. No advantage to the 1351 over the 1101, use whichever has better tubes.
