Hi,
I have read the guide for the calibration and am really thankful for you to take the time and effort to put them together for the true dummies like myself.

I have AVIA DVD and I have OPPO 980-H DVD player, which upconverts to 1080p, I am using spyder2express and CHCFR software.

  1. first question is whether to select the REC 601 or 709 standard?

  2. The TV comes with Gamma that I can set between -3 and +3 in increments of 1. What is a good starting point for this?

  3. What is a good starting point for the Backlight setting?

  4. For measuring the colors and adjusting them, the place I think we need to do this is under Color Space , and select Custom in there. But when I go there, I have the option of picking any one among RGBCMY. But when I pick say RED, then I need to adjust RGB sliders underneath that, how do I adjust. Do I randomly move R,G,B sliders and I have these RGB sliders for all the colors that I pick. I tried to move the sliders so that I an get to the standard x,y values for all the colors and then the movie looked very bad and it looked like a movie seen in SEPHIA mode. What am i doing wrong here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
