I just got a pristine condition Runco DTV 1100. It was originally installed in a HT, but I want to make it a part of mine now. I want to start off from a baseline, with all settings in their "middle" position.
I'm assuming that if I delete a block, that all the electronic settings will go back to their factory settings?

I've been scouring the 'net for install and setup help, and most of the info has come from either this site or AVS Forum.
The best of course if from this site and the "Definitive CRT Projector Setup Guide" and "Barco Setup: Quick Reference Guide".

Just as a little background on myself, I used to have a Sony VPH1271Q fed by my HTPC with a 3DFusion MPACT video card (old school - I know).

My problem is that I don't know where the physical pots and switches are located in order to set the G2, vertical alignment, etc. The Barco Setup: Quick Reference Guide says to refer to the service manual for the 17V rail, 48V pot, horizontal linearity pot, etc. Well, I don't have one and I understand that it is againt site policy to post such manuals.

Can anyone help me with a description as to where and what I should be looking for?

Thanks guys!

Gene

Just an FYI: Typically those pots never need to be touched nor would the average user have to touch them. I simply listed them in that quick reference guide because I wanted to make it as complete as possible.

Hard to tell you what to look for without the service manual I'm afraid. Smile

(The Runco DTV-1100 is a BG1209s which is scanrate limited to that of a BD1209s [75Khz] in case anyone's wondering).

Dude! the barco is bloody easy to setup, set everything to "mid position" feed it a source, go into guided and the barco will hold your hand through the setup Mr. Green

Dont touch pots etc, until you have to,most likely you wont.Familiarize yourself with the set and setup beforehand and all will fall into place. Thumbs Up

What makes a Data model a Data model and a Graphics model a Graphics model? I thought it was based upon scan rate capabilities.

I just opened up the case and is clearly shows BarcoData1209S+Iris2.

My understanding is that the 75KHz is more than enough to resolve 1280P 60Hz? I just want a great picture, specs be damned Wink

I will simply delete a setup block and start from there.

I'm actually used to my 1271Q where I did have the service manual and it made the "registration" very easy.

You'll probably need to delete all blocks, Barcos try to interpolate based on the setting of the other blocks.

You are getting scan rates and bandwidth confused I think. When folks typically talk about resolving they are referring to the video bandwidth which is 120MHz in both the Data and Graphics version of the 1209s. Maximum scan rates tell you the maximum resolution/refresh rate that the projector can sync to (but not necessarily resolve). That is the main difference between Data and Graphics. So your Runco can sync to 1080p 60Hz no problem. However if you wanted to run some crazy high resolution or refresh rate you would be more limited. Also I believe some Runcos were software limited below what the 1209s Data is capable of.
