I want to see a better trailer than the sweaty guy welding teaser.

I like that Chris Pine plays Kirk, when the first captain of the Enterprise was Chris Pike. I thought it was funny...

Nero is the Villain, which I believe is Romulan?

Have you not seen the new full trailer online yet? They even have a full 1080p version.

As long as Paramount doesn't ask for a GM-like bailout it probably is a much desired change in scenery.

I did notice a continuity issue in Trailer 2. In the first shot the C2 (Corvette) has the top up…then it’s down in the rest of the sequence. Maybe it got blown off or something.

Still looks great...can't wait to see it!

Well, the sci-fi world has been abuzz about this for about 1 year. I for one am not holding my breath. JJ Abrams tends to start strong and finish weak which I don't seem to like much. I really like strong finishes it seems. Oh well, here's hoping!

Funny - I noticed that right away, too Mike. I wonder of the discontinuity exists only in the trailer... For instance, in the film, he could have only just hopped in the car, stopped to put the top down and gas in, and then the chase scene ensues... But maybe you miss all that in the trailer.

Dave, the wife and I REALLY liked Lost on TV, so we had really high hopes for Cloverfield. I thought it was decent - scary as hell in some parts, actually. But, it almost would have been scarier without ever seeing the giant godzilla-like creature. The creatures in the subway were scary enough. You're right, though - weak finish. Being fans of Lost, we had high hopes for Fringe, what we thought would maybe be an X-Files-esque JJ Abrams show. Uhhhh... No. We didn't like the characters at all. Too bad, too because it could have been good stuff.

I agree - here's hoping.

Knowing how the top works on a mid-year it's not a 5 second task putting the top down. It would not be easy to do while moving without doing serious damage to the car and the top that was not evident in the overhead shots. BTW the car is a 1965, if the rear emblem, gas tank door and hub caps are correct. For total nitpickers the rocker panel covers are not right for the year, damn 1080p! I did like the Iowa front plate which holds true to Kirk being from the state. </Geek off>

I just hope there is a disclaimer in the flick telling us there were no Corvettes harmed in the making of this picture. Mr. Green

As a trek fan, I am trying my best to keep my expectations reasonable. This franchise hasn't put out anything good in a long time.
