All, the wife and I are trying to figure out about the bathroom fixtures for the basement bath. While I think we are going to go with a pedestal sink and elongated toilet I am not sure if I should spend too much time focused on the tub/shower. I am curious to know what everyone else did, though.

A URINAL!!!! Damnit I want to hear about just ONE guy who builds an HT loo and installs a urinal. 
The ladies will appeciate it too. No seat left in the upright and locked position. (Unless they get hammered and mix them up. Then it's not so funny....for them anyway.  ).
Of course, we ALL have at least one friend that would require Urinal 101 training.
And there's always a pinhead you wish you hadn't turned on to Kals beer!

Ok, moving beyond Greg's family pictures I discovered a couple of weeks ago that the original framers for my home were not paying attention to detail, and the builder's super attendant didn't bother to check their work. As a result, the pre-stubbed bathroom in the basement has a door that compromises the ability to install a standard 32" shower-tub.
The problem is the unfinished door opening provides exactly 30" of depth to the unfinished back wall. When I go looking for full-height shower kits or shower-tub kits the shallowest is 32". As a result, I need to move the door to this bathroom about 6" or more. This means I have to call in the framer (used for the basement project), electrician, and HVAC guy to resolve.
This is interesting when you are too illegal and frame a house not caring about basic aspects to open your mouth to the lead framer (both illegal according to the original framing sub). Being a first time home-buyer/owner, its one of those things you get bitten on and keep in mind the next time you buy a tract home. The only satisfaction I have is that after 5-6 years the builder had gotten so many complaints that he fired the super attendant and the framing sub.
