My first time here, and I don't know if this post will make it. But for those interested in x.v.color and Deep Color
there is a very good introduction that goes into all the details. It is specific to the PS3, but the section about them
are general in nature that it is helpful for all who is interested in what they are.

Interesting stuff. So for maximum backwards compatibility you really want the first release 60GB model?

Yes, for maximum ps2, sa-cd compatibility you should stick with 60gb. It also gives you more usb ports.
However, it is power hungry and a little louder. Other than that they are mostly the same.
